Digpal Lanjekar writes history into legend.

"History gives you the truth. Screenplay is the discipline of finding the story inside it."

Digpal Lanjekar is an acclaimed writer, director, producer, and lyricist, best known for his celebrated Shri Shivraj Ashtak film series — including Farzand, Fatteshikast, Pawankhind, Sher Shivraj, and Subhedar — a landmark eight-part cinematic chronicle of the Maratha Empire, built on years of field research into the history, language, and material culture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's era. A recipient of numerous industry awards, he has also written over 2,000 television episodes across his career. At e-Drishyam, his expertise in screenplay structure, historical research, and cinematic storytelling gives students a rare, ground-level understanding of how research becomes narrative — and how narrative becomes a film that moves an audience.
